2018 has been the hardest year of my life. Everything spiraled out of control for me. I had no idea where to turn but I knew I needed help. I was reluctant to go to The Pavilion at first because let's face it, the idea of being locked in a mental hospital can be downright horrifying. I can tell you this, I'm so glad I did it. The staff were helpful and amazing. Most of them have been in our shoes at one point. Making it that much easier to relate to the material they teach you. They really help and educate you in the coping skills and stradegies. And your peers become your family/friends. I can confidently say I am better now than I was going in and made connections that will last a lifetime. If you are suffering from loss, anxiety, depression, bipolar, or whatever is ailing you please don't be afraid to reach out to them. It will truely change your life for the better. I know there are some negative reviews on here too that may make you skeptical. My thoughts on that are this. If you really want the help you will get all that and more. If you try to fight against it, odds are your stay won't be pleasant. You have to want it to get it. Plain and simple. God bless the Pavilion and their amazing staff.

At first, I thought it was terrible..I was misbehaving and doing things I shouldn’t have been..but sooner or later I realized that, I HAVE to become a better person for myself..and the Pavilion really helped me with that..the staff truly capture the meaning of “Unconditional Love” and “Support” and “Honesty” don’t get me wrong..all the staff aren’t that great..but noones perfect! Everyone makes mistakes and ALL people feel down..your stay at the Pavilion Behavioral Health System is what YOU make it! It’s not a bad place..neither is it a place anyone wants to be..but people go there for treatment and closure and new possibilities..I learned to be more emotionally open without feeling ashamed..I learned to LOVE MYSELF..even at the darkest of times..because THEY loved me..when I didn’t know how to love myself..the staff there are not trying to “fix” you..they’re trying to support you and help you remain mentally stable, until you’re willing to fix yourself! (Take this from a teen that was there for 2 years!) I struggled, I was depressed, I ran away..I was harming myself mentally and physically..I felt alone...The staff there really do care..they come back day after day to help us with problems they probably burden EVERYDAY..there’s so much more I could say about this place..it’s changed me so much! But if you do decide to go here. .remember: -Your stay is what you make it! -Things get rough -People DO CARE! -DONT GIVE UP -Be Optimistic -FOLLOW DIRECTIONS -Pay Attention -TRY HARDER -Open up -BE RESPECTFUL -BE RESPONSIBLE -HAVE FUN “Wanting to be someone else; is a waste of the BEAUTIFUL person you are!!” (Love yourself! )💙

I love this place because they helped me to be myself again. I was there for 7 days. I was so depressed, over welmed, I was putting my dad and my two marriage I had onto what was going on at home but Ray got me to understand what I was doing wrong. You need to stop and think before you do something stupid. I love going to groups I felt that's what I needed all along. Long time ago I went to a place down town in Urbana side. All of you think this is bad think again I loved the pavilion health center here then the one were I stayed at 2001. It had homeless right next to us and that staff was Not in your favor at all. We had homeless coming in I felt unsafe there. But any how this is more sucurred around the building. They have staff who dose care but you got to work with them if you don't you stay more time there. But I have learned by being there . It helps you everyday one by one it makes you a better person when you walk out that door because if you don't know what the real life is you will be coming back until you get it right or you get into more trouble in life. SO PLEASE PLEASE I telling you if you don't make the right decisions it's going to caused you in the long run. I love this place they turned my life around I don't do it at all what I did and the Dr. Who is there told me Not to talk with my dad at all I took the Dr. Evissed on it. Plus Not only that my husband loves the New me now. But I had to go in there for my medication I never gotten my medication redone for at least 2004. That's a long time. But now I'm a better person. I'm on the right kind of medication and I'm doing things now then I wasn't at all. SO PLEASE IM MEAN PLEASE LET THEM HELP YOU WILL BE A BETTERPERSON IN A LONG SHOT. the way I put it was like being on vacation for a week that was it but I was getting the help that I needed at the same time.

This place helped me so much I was there for 10 days I was put on two medications I was there for hearing voices, self harming, and suicidal attempts I have to say it was the longest 10 days of my life but the therapist Ray was amazing he helped me with my social anxiety. Since I'm 12 the other kids picked on me because I was the youngest but it helped me realize I needed help coping with it I have been home for about a week I've been hearing my voices but no self harming and another great person is Marion she helped me a lot especially when people picked on me. The staff is amazing supportive of dieting and my religion I hope everyone else who needs it gets help in here. Ps. I do recommend longer visiting hours
